Your journey begins with a pick-up in Calgary, followed by a scenic drive through Kananaskis Provincial Park. Keep an eye out for wildlife like black elk, rocky mountain sheep, foxes, and perhaps even a bear—nature is alive here!
Lake Minnewanka
Arriving at Lake Minnewanka, you’ll learn about the rich history of Banff National Park, spiced up with a bit of humor. Enjoy the stunning views, take a stroll along the shoreline, snap a photo by the boat launch, or simply relax on a bench and soak in nature’s beauty.
Two Jack Lake Lookout
We’ll stop at Two Jack Lake for a quick photo op with breathtaking views. Test your camera’s skills while taking in the surrounding scenery before heading into the Town of Banff for lunch.
Lunch in Banff
You’ll have the chance to indulge in some local cuisine—try bison, elk, or Alberta beef for a true taste of the region. After lunch, explore Banff Avenue’s shops, take a walk by the river promenade, or visit one of the town’s museums. Ask us for recommendations if you want to discover something unique happening in town.
Johnston Canyon Hike
No trip to Banff is complete without a hike! Johnston Canyon offers an easy but rewarding trail to the lower waterfalls. If you’re up for more, continue on the trail for even more scenic views. Famous for its waterfalls and suspended steel catwalks, it’s an unforgettable experience. Don’t forget your phone charger!
Mount Norquay Chairlift
End your day with a scenic chairlift ride up Mount Norquay. You might even spot some bears on the way up! Once you reach the lookout, at over 7,000 feet, enjoy sweeping 360-degree views of Banff, the surrounding mountains, and Vermilion Lakes.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience!
Day 2
Get ready for an even more incredible day than the first! After being picked up at your hotel or stay, we’ll begin our adventure with the breathtaking Lake Louise. This iconic lake, with views of Victoria Glacier and the surrounding mountain lookouts, is a must-see. Whether you choose to walk along the lake trail, paddle in one of the famous red canoes, or simply relax and take in the sights, Lake Louise will stay in your heart and memory long after the trip ends.
The Most Photographed Lake: Moraine Lake
Next up, get ready to experience Moraine Lake—one of the most photographed areas in all of Banff. This stunning lake, accessible only from mid-June to mid-September, offers surreal views that will leave you speechless. Whether you choose to hike to the Rockpile for the best views, paddle on the lake, or stroll the entire trail, you’ll be surrounded by natural beauty. One of our favorite experiences here? Enjoying a quiet lunch away from the crowds by the lake — it’s pure magic.
Glacier Lakes on the Icefields Parkway
Next, we’ll continue our journey to Payto Lake. This glacier-fed lake, named after pioneer and park warden Bill Payto, is accessible from an impressive lookout, offering 360-degree views of the lake and valley. Recently renovated, the lookout provides stunning panoramas, and some say the formation of a giant wolf-shaped mountain can be spotted from a distance — but we’ll let you decide for yourself!
Bow Lake: A Perfect Finale
Before wrapping up the day, we’ll stop at Bow Lake. Here, you’ll see a towering glacier waterfall in the backdrop, along with the birthplace of the Bow River. Take a short walk to the lake, where you can dip your feet in the icy waters. It’s the perfect way to end the day—with breathtaking scenery and, if you’re up for it, a quick dip to feel the chill of the mountain waters. Don’t forget to capture a few frame-worthy photos here!
Onward to Canmore and Calgary
As our day comes to a close, we’ll make one last stop in Canmore before heading back to Calgary. You’ll leave with a camera full of unforgettable photos, inspiring memories, and a heart full of new experiences. We’ll drop you off at your hotel in Calgary, wishing you would come back for another round of adventures. It may sound cliché, but it’s true: you’ll be going home with memories that will last a lifetime.

What Our Customers Say

Murray was our tour guide for this trip! He was knowledgeable, comical, and overall took pride in his position. All of the lakes were as beautiful as I thought. I traveled with my spouse and it was so nice to both be able to point and look out the window and Murray even made sure we got all the photo op opportunities along the way! Absolutely worth every penny.
We took Banff Day Trips small group tour through Banff National Park, stopping for lunch in Banff. It was so beautiful! Murray was a terrific guide, ensuring to give great directions on photo ops and what to see. This trip was all about the lakes and impressive beauty of the mountains. The time in Banff is brief (recommend packing a lunch, or for more time in this beautiful little town, take a shuttle back on another day), but it was a great snapshot. Perfect tour.
The overall experience was truly spectacular. Our guide, Murray, went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. He was not only dependable but also warm, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. His attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm made the journey even more enjoyable and memorable.
Amazing single-day trip if you’re ever in Calgary and want to experience the mountains and lakes within the Banff area. Everything is very well organised, with the van picking you up directly from wherever it is that you’re staying. Murray was extremely informative and ensured to tell the guests about not only the main attractions of the trip, but also any interesting tidbits that you’ll see along the way. Definitely recommend.
